School Records Fall At State Meet

Junior Ben Bulkeley ran a school record time of 1:50.96 winning the State Championship in the 800m run and also breaking the old record, set in 2016, by nearly two seconds. His time currently ranks him 22nd in the country overall and 4th for juniors.

Junior Sinead Sargeant bettered her school record in the 400H of 1:02.11 to 1:01.80 on day one of competition. This effort placed her 4th in the Division 1 Championship and ranks her 18th in the country and 6th for juniors. On day two she also bettered her old mark, running 1:01.87 and finished 3rd in the Federation Championship.

Up next is New Balance Nationals in North Carolina Friday, June 16 to Sunday June 18. Fairport athletes will be competing in the Girls Emerging Elite 4x800m on Friday morning, Boys 4x800m Championship Saturday night and Girls Emerging Elite 800m, Girls Championship 400H and Boys Championship 800m on Sunday.
